The Indian Daytona racer is a legendary vintage 1919–1920s racing motorcycle built around Indian's 1000cc (61 cubic-inch) side-valve Powerplus V-twin engine. Designed for high-speed board track and beach racing, it featured a lightweight keystone frame with a signature S-shaped seat tube and no brakes.

In September 1919 the Powerplus racer appeared with a new Harley-style frame, open at the bottom, that used the engine as a stressed member. A revised ‘Daytona’ version of this frame was introduced the following year featuring top tubes and steering head lowered by an inch or two to achieve a lower saddle position. Readily recognized by its ‘S’ shaped seat tube, the Daytona frame quickly became the Indian factory racers’ favorite.

This Indian Daytona racer is in a patinated condition and in good running order.

Fitted with a strong 1000 cc flathead engine, sporting gearbox and handlebars, Bosch magneto ignition and Schebler DLX carburettor.

This Daytona racer Indian can be easily called a real eye-catcher with its "oily rag" look, having nice old beaded-edge rims and original leather covered saddle, slight dents and scratches on the petrol tank - which provides the machine plenty of character.
